Deregulation of gene technology in Switzerland?
Last April we reported on the re-founding of the Swiss GMO-free Alliance. We would like to inform you about the latest news concerning the (de)regulation of genetic engineering in Switzerland.
The swiss science, education and culture committee (SECC) recently approved the extension of the moratorium on the cultivation of genetically modified crops until 2027, including new genetic engineering techniques. A commendable decision in itself. But it appears to be just a way of waiting for the results of the currently stalled legislative processes in the EU. Industry lobbying is in full swing, albeit in the background.
We therefore ask you to support and sign the Food Protection Initiative.

HORTUS OFFICINARUM was founded in 2008 as an initiative of the organic-biodynamic movement to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and the improvement of medicinal plant seeds for the needs of organic farming. We organise the practical work, which is carried out within a network of biodynamic nurseries in different locations, mainly in Switzerland and Germany.
